Lizzy’s First 40″ Trip to DisneyLand!

Early this morning we returned from a 3-night stay in a Concierge room at the Grand Californian.

DisneyLand opened up more lines for Lizzy this trip – because she was just barely 40 inches tall!

She got to ride on these rides for the first time:

  • Jumpin’ Jellyfish (with Daddy!)
  • Soarin’ Over California
  • Orange Stinger (with Daddy in one of the Tandem seats)
  • Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
  • Space Mountain
  • Splash Mountain (with Daddy!)
  • Star Tours

She was also tall enough for the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, but we thought we had better take it easy.

We usually don’t buy the pictures when you get off the rides, but the second time that Lizzy went on Space Mountain, she realized that somewhere there was a camera on the ride since we looked for the pictures after the first time on the ride. When asked how she knew where to wave, she said she didn’t. She just posed by waving and smiling the entire ride (except for the times when Mommy would tell her that she needed to yell). The picture can be found in the Gallery.

Walt Disney World 2008

Yesterday we got home from our vacation to Florida that included a Disney Cruise, and then a trip over to Walt Disney World for 5 more days. Lizzy loved the rides and shows, not so much the bus rides between each of the parks.

Disney Cruise 2008 – Bahamian

Today our 4-year old Lizzy got off the ship from her first cruise on the Disney Wonder during the 4-night Thanksgiving cruise.

The evening before the cruise, we stayed at the Hyatt Regency Orlando International Airport, which was actually part of the airport facility.

Our ports of call were (1) Nassau, New Providence, The Bahamas; (2) Castaway Cay (Disney’s own private island).

Our stateroom was #2085 (Cat 10).

Our Cruise Director was Clayton. Our Servers were Mihailo Pavlovic, from Serbia, and Milos.

She had a great time in her Disney Oceaneer Club, with “activities tied to kids’ favorite Disney Characters and stories”. She quickly got used to calling this “her club” when she wanted to go and play there. The guys down at the Club found out she wanted to fly, so they left us some pixie dust outside our cabin for her to use.

While cruising past Castaway Cay, we got to see the Wonder’s sister ship, the Disney Magic docked there. The two ships had fun sounding their horns at each other.

After we has disembarked from the ship, severe weather in Port Canaveral caused the main gangway for guests and crew members to collapse into the water. While several guests were still on board, no injuries were reported.

Doctor Visit

Today Lizzy went to visit with the Doctor because she had a nice little bump next to her belly button.

Well, Doctor couldn’t find anything wrong with her tummy, yet she managed to find out that Lizzy had Strep Throat. She had no other symptoms, except for the bump on her belly that we had seen the night before.
