We are currently the proud parents of a 2 week old baby girl.
We had the privilege of picking her up on 17 Nov 2004, at just around noon.
She was born on 1 Nov 2004 at 11:32pm, and weighed 5 lbs 13 oz, and was 16 1/2″ long. Her Apgar readings were 9 at 1 min, and 9 at 5 min.
The name we have chosen for her is Elizabeth Louise Jasmine Dabrowski. Elizabeth and Louise are our mom’s middle names. Of course she has to have her own name, so Jasmine is hers and means “Gift from God” in Persian (my mom’s background includes Persian). We’ll be calling her “Lizzy” as her short name.
6-months from the day we picked her up, they expect us to be in court to have the adoption finalized.
Some picks of her first day with us are here in the Gallery.
Yesterday we returned from a trip over to Florida, where we visited NASA and Walt Disney World.
On the 1st anniversary of the attack on September 11, it was an interesting experience at WDW. While in the park, all of the rides, music and other activities were halted, while they had an announcement come over the speakers. They then had a moment of silence, which was quite eerie. Once that was finished, everything was started back up as usual.
This weekend, we were able to attend the Regional Conference held at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas.
Speakers we were able to listen to were President Monson (first counselor in the First Presidency), Richard G. Scott, Larry W. Gibbons, Merrill C. Oaks (area seventy), President McKee (mission president), President Twitchell (temple presidency).
